Gediminas Hill and Upper Castle

We spent a day in Old Town and did some shopping and then walked over to Gediminas Hill.  Vilnius was founded on Gediminas Hill and has been topped since the 13th century by a red-brick tower.  Its walls were ruined during the Russian occupation, but was restored in 1930 to house the Upper Castle Museum.  You are able to take a funicular up to the top of the hill and tour the museum and enjoy the beautiful views.

This street scene is actually in my travel book.
Of course, I had to duplicate my own, although mine is a winter view instead of summer.

 Great views from up here!

Three Crosses which I wrote about in a previous entry.

Heading back down the Funicular

At the base is a treasure cave that even the Goonies would've been impressed by!
