The Coolest Gum... Ever.

On the way home from the Palmengarten, we stopped into this store.  Sitting on the counter was this, uh... treat.

I mean, who could possibly resist these?!?!

Not only is this the funniest bubble gum I've ever come across, but they advertise as "Gluten free", "Liquid filled" and "Extra Sour"!  I mean, come on... YUM, right???  LOL!

You can click on the picture to make it bigger if you want to really get a good look.  This camel is so hip he even has a nosering!

Niiiiiiice.

Daddy's Day Off - Visit to Palmengarten

Monday, April 15, 2013
Frankfurt, Germany

Finally Rob has a day off!!  We spent the day at the Palmengarten (basically a big park and botanic garden) where they also have a playground and water play area for the kids.  It was a hot day (in the 70's!) and we actually broke out the shorts and tank tops!!  Our friend Anne and her daughter Riley joined us for the day.

Hollis pointing out the carp to daddy.
This swan was so interested in Hollis.  She reached her hand out, and I told Rob, don't let the swan bite her!  He said "That swan's not going to bite her"... (but he did pull her hand back)

Hollis put her foot up on the edge here, and 2 seconds after I snapped this... the swan bit her shoe!

Adventure to Niddapark

Sunday, April 14, 2013
Ginnheim - Frankfurt, Germany

We finally got some great weather here, so I decided to take Hollis to Niddapark which is about a 20 minute walk from our house.  It has a HUGE playground, a zip line area, a skate park, a water play area, and huge open grassy fields and miles of walking trails.

Here's some fun shots of Hollis and I on our fun day!

Saturday Market - Neighborhood Book Nook!

April 6, 2013
Frankfurt am Main

Just across the river is a huge flea market where you can find anything and everything.  Shoes, clothes, kitchen items, bicycles, furniture, gadgets, art, antiques and just plain good old junk!

We wandered the market last weekend - no treasures purchased - but did have a fun time taking it all in.

This is on the corner of our neighborhood.  There are several in the area, but basically, they are community book stands.  They have glass doors, and you are welcome to take a book, leave a book.  Of course, these are all in German, but we like to stop and peruse now and again.  :)  I actually found an English book in there.  Woo hoo!
